Hotel Slavija - Split

Hotel Slavija is located inside Diocletian's Palace, which is 1700 years old and is protected by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The hotel was first opened in 1900, thus being the oldest hotel in Split. The building itself dates back to the 17th century and houses nicely furnished and comfortable rooms. Diocletian’s Palace is the historic centre of Split surrounded with Roman walls, squares and temples. The airport bus terminal, the train and bus stations as well as the Split port are all very close, what makes the Slavija hotel a great place for all travellers.

This 17th-century building rests within the walls of the Roman Palace complex. The reception area incorporates an old stone arch into an invitingly airy lobby with wicker chairs and settees. Rooms come in a selection of shapes and sizes. Hotel Slavija is open 24 hours and there is always someone at the reception desk, so do not worry if you are arriving late at night. If you are coming early in the morning, you can leave your luggage at the reception desk and come back later to check in.

The location is the Slavija's great attraction. Our hotel is located in Diocletian's palace, so there are lot of interesting things to see. The first one would be the main square called Peristil. It is the centre of the palace and is about 1700 years old. On that square there is also the main church of Split, the cathedral of St. Duje (he is the patron saint of Split). From the top of the cathedral (60 metres) you enjoy the most beautiful view of Split. Don't miss the Roman Mausoleum under the ground, the ethnographic museum, the art gallery and the city museum (all situated in the palace), the Jupiter temple and the smallest street in the whole world! Its name is "Let me pass through" because only one person at a time can pass it.

The hotel is located just - 200 metres from the airport bus terminal (at the main street called Riva) - 300 metres from the train and bus station - 300 metres from the port - 60 metres from the main street Riva. It will take you around 30 minutes (45 in the summertime traffic) by bus or car to get to our hotel from the airport. If you are coming with your own car just follow the signs for the centre of town or to the ferry station.

We serve a Continental Breakfast including refreshments including orange juice, coffee, tea, milk, black and white bread patte, small hot dogs, eggs, croissants (chocolate, vanilla and marmalade flavour), cheese spread, chocolate spread, fruits(apples, oranges, bananas) and cereals (chocolate, vanilla and mixed). The hotel serves breakfast from 06:30 to 10:00.
