Hotel Macola - Korenica

The Hotel "Macola" is situated in Korenica, only 10 km away from the National Park Plitvička jezera (10 min. drive). The hotel is recently opened and trendily equipped. It is situated in the valley, which is surrounded from side by the slopes of the mountain Plješevica and from the other by mountain Mrsini with the remains of the ancient episcopal centre.

The special offer of the hotel is: jacuzzi for 6 persons and a well supplied supermarket. The special attraction of the hotel is the ride with Cadilac to the National park Plitvička jezera (the Plitvice Lakes).

Korenica is situated between two mountains: Pljesevica and Mrsinj. The latter is smaller and has a marked path all the way to the summit. 5 km from the city is the small village of Frkasic where many paragliding fans come during the summer, because of the good location and winds. At the other side of mountain Pljesevica is the river Una, where you can enjoy rafting or fly-fishing. 40 km from the hotel on the way to Zadar, near the city of Gračac is a large cave named Cerovacke Pecine. Nearby is the small village of Smiljan, where a museum dedicated to the great scientist, inventor, engineer and pioneer Nikola Tesla can be found. It has been created in his former home and the church of his father who was a priest. He is best known for his revolutionary contributions to the field of electricity at the turn of the last century and was recently played on screen by David Bowie.

By Plane: The nearest airport is in Zadar, 120 km south of the hotel. By Car: The entrance to the new highway is 40 km south of the hotel. By Train: The station is 30 km west of the hotel in the city of Vrhovine.

In our restaurant we offer the specialties of the traditional kitchen (homemade bread, prosciutto ham, cheese "basa", lamb meat, specialties made under a baking lid..), the international kitchen as well as the vegetarian and diabetic menu.
