Cavtat, surrounded by hills, blue sea, rocky and pebble beaches and green woods is offering a lot to its visitors. It is a small medieval town situated on the southern edge of Croatia's coast and is located in a picturesque bay enclosed by 2 peninsulas. Cavtat is the main town of the Konavle region, an area known for its particular natural beauty. The main advantage of this town is its proximity to Dubrovnik, "the Pearl of the Adriatic" (16 km), as well as to Cilipi Airport (5 km), the Bosnia and Herzegovina border (20 km), and the Montenegro border (30 km). There are transportation connections with Dubrovnik city, the most interesting one being the boat service which operates hourly to Dubrovnik from Cavtat old town from April to October. The boat arrives directly in Dubrovnik old town and the journey time is approx. 30-40 minutes. The other way of transportation is a bus, which operates every half an hour from both directions. Other attractions include excursions to offshore islands such as Mljet and the Elaphite Islands, as well as day trips to Montenegro and Mostar, to name a few.

Cavtat is a peaceful small town with a beautiful promenade, where more than 20 restaurants and numerous coffee bars can be found. There are some grocery stores in the area, and 2 km from the town centre there is a bigger supermarket. The place also has a small market place with home-made products, and a fishmonger with fresh seafood. Both of those are only open early in the morning, from 07:00.
